This .22 caliber semi-automatic Pre-Woodsman pistol was shipped on May 14th, 1923 in blued finish with stocks not listed, in a shipment of five guns to Schmelzer Arms Company in Kansas City, Missouri. At some time subsequent to manufacture the frame and slide were master engraved in a beautiful Art Deco style with stippled background, oak leaf patterns on sides. Touch of engraving on trigger guard as well as grip borders. We can find no signature of engraver. The walnut grips are also hand-carved in a German oak and acorn style. Has target front sight and adjustable rear sight. Retains nearly all of the finish applied at the time of engraving with razor sharp barrel legends. Comes in a French fitted custom hard case with red lining. Strong, clean bore. Fine action. Includes one magazine.
