The entirety of this piece has been hand sewn with such elaborate needlework, from the details on the feathered headdress to the texture of the Indian Chief's skin. The usage of earth tone colors perfectly coordinate the subtle tones of maroon and pink. Circa 1890-1900. The edges sewn onto the wood frame are separating.
