Comprising: (A) A Spanish half stock percussion fowler. Two stage swamped smoothbore steel barrel with gold band at muzzle and maker's mark deeply stamped on top near breech surrounded by smaller stamped stars and silver inlaid ferns. Flat percussion lockplate marked "Lemotte --- / a St. Etienne". Spanish style stock molded and deeply fluted on both sides of butt with ornate plain brass furniture. Good condition; barrel and lock retain a light grey spotted patina. Hammer screw has been replaced. Stock good with scattered marks from use. Ramrod missing tip and crooked. Brass furniture retains a mellow patina. (B) An early flintlock fowler with Italian barrel stamped on top "PIETRO MORETTA". Rear sight on tang and front post sight. Plain steel lock with rounded face and cock and plain steel furniture. Plain walnut half stock of early form and carved around barrel tang, lockplate and sideplate. Good condition; all steel components have been cleaned and retain a light grey patina with some scattered freckling and dark spotting. Stock good as sanded and refinished with scattered cracks from age and one repair around top of lock tang.
