Manufactured 1908. Standard features include full round barrel, sporting front sight, rear sight blank, Lyman Model 21 receiver sight, blued finish, walnut stock and rifle butt. Barrel retains approximately 95% original blue with sharp legends. Left side of the frame and magazine retain approximately 80% original high polish blue, as does sight and lever. Right side of frame retains approximately 50% blue, balance blending with a smooth plum. Stocks are excellent with no cracks. Wood has had some added finish. Strong rifled bore. The .30-Gov't-03 was original invented for the Springfield Model 1903 which became almost obsolete after the .30-06 came out in 1906, making this one of the scarcer calibers available in the Model 1895 rifle. This is an excellent example of this rifle in a very scarce caliber.
