Smoothbore steel octagon to round barrel with flat rib on top and small front and rear sights. Flat lockplate converted to percussion marked in center "T / KETLAND / & CO". Brass New England style furniture including full sideplate with stiff leaf engraved border and other designs. Buttplate engraved with "06" and trigger guard with spur at back, engraved with flower on bow and fern engraved on finial. Figured maple full length stock with vacant silver oval wrist escutcheon and wooden ramrod. Good condition; barrel and lock retain a dark brown patina with some corrosion around breech and head of hammer screw broken off. Fowler has been shortened probably during period of use and about 12" of forend have been professionally replaced. Stock shows some wear and minor repairs. A great gun for over the fireplace.
