Comprising: (A) U.S. regulation Model 1840 light artillery saber with curved blade with deep single fuller on each side, stamped on ricasso "US / J.F / 1865". Typical heavy brass Model 1840 hilt with leather wrapped grip with braided copper wire. Complete with nickel plated steel scabbard. Good condition; blade retains a grey patina with some light freckling and sharpening marks. Hilt retains an unpolished patina on brass. Grip with a hairline crack on left side and some minor losses to leather. Scabbard retains much of original nickel finish and has a few light dents. (B) U.S. Model 1850 non-commissioned officer's sword with slightly curved steel blade with single shallow fuller on each side with etched panels on both sides. One side etched with scrolls and large "U.S.", the other etched with scrolls, cannons and an eagle. Ricasso marked "SOLINGEN" on left side. Brass hilt with chiseled flowers on guard and piercings, including large "U.S.". Chagrin grip wrapped with three strands of brass wire. Complete with steel scabbard with brass mounts. Blade retains a light grey patina with some dark spots and shows wear. Hilt retains an unpolished patina with some scattered marks. Grip very good. Scabbard very good with unpolished patina; drag missing one small screw.
