Manufactured in Brooklyn, New York 1861-63. "Seven shooter". Barrel and cylinder swing to right for loading. Engraved brass frame, cylinder and barrel blued, walnut grips, and square butt. Brass has never been polished and is a dark mustard color. Cylinder and barrel are smooth plum patina. Excellent well-fitting grips. Indexes fine but a little off-time. Visible rifling. Comes with an original period flap holster that is form fitted to gun. Missing catch. Scratched into backstrap are initials "Z. Powell". The only Z. Powell we could fine was Corporal Z. Powell of the Second Mississippi, part of Robert E. Lee's army of northern Virginia Confederacy. Major battles: First and Second Manassas, Seven Pines, Gettysburg, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, and Appomattox. Private Powell actually signs his first name "Z. Powell" which is very unusual. Copies of these records come with revolver.
