Manufactured between 1860-65. Stock does not have patchbox. Made without tape primer. Military three leaf folding rear sight. Sling ring on left side of frame. This has two beautiful cartouches on the left-hand side. Excellent walnut stocks. Part octagon to round barrel retains traces of blue; otherwise basically blue-smooth plum patina overall. Intact saddle ring. Strong, clean rifling. Perfect action. These carbines saw use with Confederate General John B. Hood as well as the 9th and 11th Indiana; 3rd, 4th, and 12th Tennessee; and the Battle at Vicksburg. Also comes with an original R. White U.S. Ordnance leather percussion cap pouch.
