Features part octagon barrel, blued finish, case colored frame, walnut stocks, saddle ring on left side, military folding rear sight and post front sight. Left side of stock has the beautiful August Noble cartouche and James Mills, both of whom inspected Smith carbines. Walnut stocks are in excellent condition. Matching numbers. Barrel is basically a blue-brown-plum patina. Case colors have greyed out. Sharp legends. Fine action. At least two regiments carried the Smith carbine onto the battlefields of Gettysburg.
