This is a scarce Takedown Model that features pistol grip walnut checkered half stock, grooved steel buttplate with three cartridge trapdoor, ramp sporting front sight, two leaf folding rear sight, butter knife bolt handle, sling eyes, and single trigger. The pistol grip is made of horn and has a release which hides a trapdoor. Very short production period. These historic rifles were featured in motion pictures and novels. Made in Austria. Model is stamped on front receiver bridge. Barrel is a mix of 75% blue starting to thin and patina. Frame retains about the same percentage. Stock is excellent, not cracked but does have a few minor battle dings. Magazine and trigger guard have turned blue-brown patina. Action is fine. Strong rifled bore. Front right tip of stock has a minor repair.
