Offered is an extremely early, fourth year production gun that was offered in its own serial range. This is finished in a deep, rich charcoal blue with fire blued small parts and rounded case colored early hammer. Trigger is fire blue. Has the Colt logo gutta percha black grips with Colt pony in circle. Left slide has the last patent date of 1902 and the Colt's patent firearms early stamp, used circa 1906. The round hammer was used until 1908. Last style slide serrations, early sights, and second style magazine with high polish blank blue base. Beautiful case colors on hammer. Grips are near mint. Very good to excellent high polish blue on small parts. Approximately 85% original charcoal blue factory finish. Thinning straps, sharp legends. High polish small parts. Very good bore and action.
