Manufactured 1865. All matching numbers with the exception of the wedge which is not numbered. By far the scarcest of the standard Colt Civil War handguns with 38,800 manufactured 1861 to 1863, compared to the over 200,000 1860's and 215,348 1851's; making it the scarcest of the large caliber Civil War holster pistols. This is a standard model that features round barrel, 1860 ratchet-style loading lever, six shot non-fluted cylinder, Ormsby roll-engraved Naval scene, case colored frame, brass trigger guard and backstrap, one piece walnut varnished grips. The barrel and cylinder on this revolver are a lovely plum-blue-brown patina with flashes of brilliant blue on barrel. When lever is opened, nearly all of the bright original blue is present. Smooth brown cylinder with 50-70% scene. Case colored frame has patterned out. Traces of plating on trigger guard and backstrap. Excellent original one piece varnished walnut grips. Indexes and locks up perfectly. Strong, clean bore. Far above average and scarce 1861 Navy.
