Offered is a standard factory blue 7-shot spur trigger tip up revolver. These were mfg. from 1868-1881. Sports the standard 3-1/4” barrel and chambered for the .22 rimfire cartridge. Lovely original ivory birds head grips fit nicely. Darkened case colors on hammer. 90% original factory high polish blue finish with plum patina showing through from underneath on areas of barrel with some minor age freckling. Near mint bore and fine action. These are rather scarce when found with this much original blue finish. Gun is housed in an ancient oak case that has “H F Rogers 1869” written in fountain pen. Also comes with a partial box of original ammunition by UMC and has No. 1 and Smith image on cover. Beautiful cased and high condition revolver. Serial no. 10308 does not match the letter which shows serial no. 13308 which seems to be a simple typo and states that this revolver was shipped on February 15, 1869 to C.W. May of New York City and Paris as a standard blued gun with rose wood grips in a shipment of 100 units. Roy Jinks mentions the case, ivory grips and engraving were added by dealer. This gun does not have any engraving. Revolver will come with this letter which could be returned for a correction.
