Manufactured in 1973. Round blued superposed steel barrels with vented matte rib and white bead. Stainless steel boxlock actions with chiseled oak leaves on top and two pheasants on each side, surrounded by fine scrolls. Bottoms engraved with roses and scrolls. Long trigger guard tang, engraved with "W. O. FITZKE" in block letters. Features include single gold trigger, ejectors, non-automatic thumb safeties/barrel selector. Figured varnished walnut flat knob buttstock with checkered panels around grip and special White Line recoil pad. Forearm with shaped checkered panels on each side. Complete with Browning factory cardboard box and factory brown vinyl covered hard case with brown partitioned interior. Accessories include an oiler, case keys, and owner's manuals. Gun and case are in excellent condition showing nearly no signs of use, with only a few light storage marks. Also included is an archive of information, adds, and articles about Browning Superposed shotguns and a series of correspondence between Browning and the original owner confirming that it is a grade two Lightning and there was an additional charge for the custom engraved pheasants. It also confirms skeet and improved modified chokes, custom recoil pad, engraved name on long tang trigger guard and vented rib.
