This was a standard GI captured cyq code Walther P-38 double action semi-automatic WW11 Nazi marked pistol released to Capt. L. Kornblith on Feb. 19, 1946 by serial number 2115 (all matching). Sometime after, maybe still while in Germany, it was master engraved in the German Oak Leaf style with nearly complete coverage on frame and slide with gold plated accents. It was then fully nickel plated, most of which remains today (97% plus). Has standard black issue grips with small chip on right side but really deserves pearl or ivory. Even the P38 stamped magazine is nickel plated and the outfit is housed in a plain wood French fitted box. Stunning piece and the engraving is beyond reproach.
