These trade pistols date from the first quarter of the 19th century. Both featuring round brass smoothbore barrels, tops marked "LONDON" with engraved border, one with English proofmarks still visible. Both lockplates stamped "KETLAND/&CO". Brass furniture with simple line-engraved borders. Plain walnut stocks and replaced wooden ramrods. Good condition, barrels and brass components on both pistols retain a mellowing patina with scattered marks from use, some darkening around touch holes from reconversion. Locks retain a brown patina with some freckling, both are reconverted. Stocks both refinished and with some restoration. A nice brace of brass barreled English pistols, would display very well.
