The byf code indicates that this pistol was manufactured by Mauser and is dated 1941. This pistol was manufactured for the German military in 1941 and 1942. Features: "byf" stamped on toggle, "41" stamped on chamber, "PO8" stamped on left side of frame, matching numbers on all parts, numerous Waffenamt stamps, has the black widow type black plastic grips with the black small parts and has a blue magazine with black plastic end cap. Fine bore and action. This pistol remains in beautiful condition retaining a minimum of 95% plus original factory blue with just some minor high edge wear. Due to its all dark finish, these are referred to by collectors as the "Black Widow". It would be extremely difficult to find a finer example of this WWII Nazi marked Luger.
