Serial no. 32653 was manufactured in 1938 with the scarce 24” octagon barrel and chambered for the .22 short round only. It is a takedown model as were all the 61s and has the standard blue finish, pistol grip plain walnut stock, flat bottom forend with a checkered steel butt plate. The frame retains approximately 85-90% original factory blue with edge wear. The barrel retains approximately 70% original blue with wear on edges, muzzle and some clamping scars at the breech. Wood is very good to excellent but there is a noticeably long touchable scratch on the left side. Fine bore and action. Has a flat crown. Very nice looking, extremely scarce, octagon barreled, 61 short caliber.
