This presentation rifle was built by Griffin and Howe of New York. It is stamped on the extra heavy 30” barrel chambered for the 300 H&H Magnum. Heavy round barrel has plugs for front and rear sight. Engraved on the breech of barrel is “BEN C COMFORT 1935 WINNER THE WIMBLEDON CUP MATCH CAMP PERRY OH SCORE-100”. Griffin and Howe used the Remington 30S frame for this presentation rifle. The bolt has the oil worms. Lyman aperture sight missing stem. 1917 Remington Action. Rifle has G&H deluxe, custom, beautifully grained, checkered walnut stock with a vintage red waffle pad and rollover cheek piece. Stock is in excellent condition and has a metal grip cap with stock ID plaque. Barrel and frame retain 98% of the original finish with a couple of minor storage rubs. Rifle is topped with a quality Lyman Super Target scope with Unertl aluminum adjustable mounts. Scope is barrel mounted. An extremely handsome and historic Griffin and Howe. This is a one of a kind trophy presentation pre-war rifle.
