The Winchester factory letter lists this rifle as shipped on February 20, 1891 as a .50-110 caliber with full octagon barrel and plain trigger. Other features not mentioned in letter include: 26” standard length barrel, full magazine, Winchester sporting front and rear sights, walnut stocks, as well as a case colored frame, hammer, lever, buttplate and nose cap. The breech is stamped "50 E.X." with "Model 1886" on tang. Razor sharp factory legends and a strong near mint bore with a perfect action. Stocks are near mint to mint. Gun retains virtually all of the brilliant case colors and beautiful charcoal blue on barrel and magazine. In fact, this Big Fifty rifle is in near new condition inside and out with a bit of light age freckling and some thinning of blue in the loading gate. It is just about the same condition as the day it walked out the door of the Winchester factory in 1891. It is a testament to the quality of the work of Turnbull restorations that their craftsmanship could produce a finished product that is nearly indiscernible from the finishes that left the factory over one hundred years ago. If you have ever desired to own a near new Big Fifty that you could actually afford to own and shoot, this would be a keeper. Factory letter included.
