A mere 1,002 Ball repeating carbines were manufactured in 1864 and delivered in May 1865 having never seen service during the Civil War. This is a .50 caliber lever action, seven shot repeater with walnut stocks and sling ring on receiver. It has a 20-1/2” barrel with military rear sight and two bands. Rifle operates as an internal tube fed repeater. All metal is basically soft brown patina with no original finish. Stocks are very good to excellent. Interesting and seldom seen Civil War carbine. No visible cartouche on wood.
