Although not maker stamped, this exquisite custom Mauser rifle was part of the famed Canadian championship shooter John Evans collection. The blued barrel was manufactured sans sights with the only marking being “257 Roberts” and the small Canadian export mark. The frame is simply hand engraved with the serial number G9082. Barrel and frame retain virtually all of the custom applied blue finish, as does trigger guard and fore plate. The stock is exquisite with custom checkering in the fleur-de-lis pattern and has a black contrasting forend tip. Fine undercut roll over cheek piece with straight comb and incredible grain. Skeletal butt plate is finely checkered with a skeletal grip cap. Adjustable deluxe nickel plated sling swivels and the owners silver stock disc. This is a show piece custom Mauser in near new condition.
