From the Sonneberg region of Germany came the bears of the Richard Diem Company. This 18" golden teddy has all of the "markings" of a typical Diem: large glass eyes, hard excelsior stuffing, big ears, reinforced soles with cardboard inserts and down stitched noses. For many years these bears were attributed to Schuco. Research by German bear historians finally yielded their true identity and the mystery was solved.
