Circa 1910. Steiff gold 16" teddy bear carries around his neck a handwritten tag describing his travels from Berkeley, CA to Paris with many European stops in between. The relationship between a boy and his bear is movingly conveyed in a rare piece of personal history. The Steiff bear has shoe button eyes, black stitched nose, five way jointing and an underscored Steiff button. Uniform overall wear with great provenance and history outweigh condition.
