This incredible CDV of a young and dapper Buffalo Bill Cody dates to his earliest live on stage appearance era , long before he performed in his Wild West Shows that made him an international superstar. He wears the showy garb with his long flowing not yet grey hair, is posed with his trusty Winchester and the larger than life belt buckle that became one of his trademarks. Great image with perfect balance and contrast. Images from his World Tour days are fairly common but early images, especially those that are staged so beautifully, are literally impossible to find and there could be none finer anyway. A true classic image of the best know personage of the 19th century Wild West. One of the first larger than life celebrities. The photo measures 6 – ½” tall and 4 – 1/4” wide.
