This model was manufactured between 1850 and 1873, with this example made in 1856. It has all matching numbers including the wedge. "U.S." stamped under Colt patent on the left side of frame. Military cartouches on both sides of the grip. Single line address on top of octagon barrel "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY". The front sight has been replaced and was made out of an American U.S. coin and you can see "STATES" on the left side of the sight. Retains a very strong cylinder Naval battle scene. The finish is a smooth gray patina with mellow brass trigger guard and grip straps.
