Referred to as the Starr 1858 Double Action Army. Approximately 23,000 were made from the late 1850's to early 1860's. Manufactured in New York, it was extremely popular in the war between the states and made famous in the Clint Eastwood movie "The Unforgiven". Features round barrel, non-fluted cylinder, blued finish and one piece walnut grips. This is a U.S. military issue with numerous inspector stamps on metal and inspector cartouche on both sides of the grip. All matching serial numbers. This revolver has seen very little use as evidenced by its condition. Retaining 75-85% of original factory blue, blending with soft patina and has razor sharp legends. Indexes correctly double action. Fine bore. A far above average military marked Starr.
