According to a factory letter, this revolver was shipped on September 3rd, 1937 to the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety with blue finish, 5" barrel, .38 Special and checkered walnut grips. Revolver has matching numbers on cylinder and barrel. A total of 55 of these revolvers were shipped to the same location. This revolver is built on the five screw N frame with blued finish, six shot, and case colored hammer and trigger. The right grip panel is stamped with the matching serial number. The back strap is stamped "Oklahoma Highway Patrol", as is stated in letter. Gun is in excellent, near new operating condition with balance of missing finish blending patina from holster wear. Retains approximately 75% of finish. Grips are in very good to excellent with usual wear. Traces of color on hammer and trigger. Indexes correctly and has a fine bore.
