Manufactured 1885. This blue and case color Thunderer was the same model that Billy the Kid was reported to carry. Designed by William Masson. This is the first double action that Colt put into production. It was made to compete with the double action revolvers coming out of Europe at that time. The action on this model is noted for its weakness. This one does not work correctly in either double or single action. Gun retains approximately 50% of the original blue and 5% of the case color with the remainder turning to patina. Excellent two piece hard rubber grips. Fair bore.
