Measures about 6" overall. Round rifled steel barrel with brown finish, top flat of patent breech marked "DERINGER / PHILADELA / P" and inlaid with two German silver bands at breech. Back action percussion lock engraved with scrolls and stamped "DERINGER / PHILADELA". Full length walnut stock of familiar form with checkered panels around grip and engraved German silver furniture. Very good condition; barrel retains most of thinning original brown finish, lock retains a light grey patina with tight and functional mechanism. Markings excellent overall. Stock shows some light wear to checkering and scattered marks, back of grip has a dished out flute done during the period of use for an unknown reason. Furniture is unpolished and engraving shows no wear. This is an excellent example of an untouched Philadelphia Deringer.
