Manufactured 1901. This is arguably one of the finest existing special order Marlin Model 1894 rifles extant. Features the extremely rare 30" full octagon barrel with full magazine; German silver knife blade front sight; semi-buckhorn sporting rear sight; case colored frame, lever, hammer and rifle buttplate; with blued bolt, loading gate, screws, and forend cap; and varnished walnut stocks. The frame and hammer retain virtually all of the brilliant factory case colors with only the bottom of the lever having patterned out. Traces of color on buttplate. Fire blue screws are near mint on buttplate and some light wear to fire blue screws on frame. Forend cap retains 97% bright blue. Barrel and tube retain virtually all of the original blue finish with a hint of high edge wear at muzzle and cap. The factory varnished walnut stocks are near new with a couple of minor bumps. Bolt retains virtually all of the original high polish blue. Loading gate retains 75% brilliant blue. Frame retains most of the original varnish. Near mint bore and action. Even the magazine cap retains nearly all of the high polish blue. It would be virtually impossible to find another example with the extra long barrel in this condition.
