These dug up relics are in a collector category all their own. This one was buried or under water for over a century. The octagon barrel has layers of attached rust, the bolt is rusted shut, the hammer is rusted in the open position, the lower tang is missing, and there is no lever, trigger, nor any wood. It does not appear there has been any attempt to clean. When collecting relic dug up guns, ones mind races with the possible circumstances in which a fine rifle was left abandoned with the hammer still cocked. A great display or conversation piece.
