Thrasher was born in Paris, Texas in 1940. His paintings are sought by many western art collectors and are displayed in many galleries of distinction. His western and wildlife as well as his scenes of old Mexico and his landscapes are all widely known. On the back is the title "Approaching Storm", as well as artist J.W. Thrasher, medium: oil, size 1" by 14", and the original price $1,250, on a Troy's Gallery identification Tag. This dramatic painting features the image of a herd of grazing buffalo sensing the presence of a nearby coyote against a backdrop of an ominous and threatening sky. Image condition is excellent, mat has numerous age spots and should be replaced, and the frame has some high edge wear.
