M.S.A. Co. - Gladstone Mich. U.S.A. - Early 5 - 1/2" folding safety hunter handled in hard rubber. Front scale marked "MARBLE SAFETY AXE CO. GLADSTONE, MICH. U.S.A." in panel. Back scale has a blank panel. Knife features a heavy nickel silver lobed swing guard, safety lock with lanyard hole, and a removable blade feature. Blade is solid with great snap in both open and close directions, along with an excellent half stop. Circa pre-World War I.
