This little beauty was manufactured in 1877 and has seen very little use having been well taken care of. Features full round barrel, full magazine, twin barrel bands (front band with integral front sight), brass frame, brass carbine style buttplate with trapdoor, saddle ring, folding leaf rear sight and walnut stocks. The barrel and tube show generous amounts of original factory blue with the barrel starting to lightly thin at breech and mixing with a soft patina. Loading gate retains 70% of the original high polish blue. Lever and hammer case colors have basically turned a soft patina. Stocks are very good to excellent with just some minor bumps and the majority of the varnish intact, proud to metal, with no cracks. Brass is untouched, dark mustard with traces of verdigris. Sharp screws with light marring. Fine action and a clean, strong bore. This early little carbine remains in untouched original condition and one of the finer examples that you will find. A true American Western classic in highly collectible condition.
