This extremely early first year production Model 1892 was manufactured December 20th, 1892 as a .38 caliber standard octagon rifle. It was sent back to the factory sometimes after 1901 and changed to the .32 WCF cartridge as evidenced by the "PW" stamp on barrel and frame. It was period shortened from 24" to 21 - 1/2". Features full octagon barrel, full magazine, sporting sights, walnut stock and rifle butt. This rifle saw some hard usage during its lifetime. All metal is a grey patina. Stocks are very good, slightly shy to metal, revarnished. Action is fine. Very good bore. Very colorful and homogenous first year 1892 Winchester.
