One Dutch snaphaunce lock measuring 8" in length, with an old yellowed tag which reads "Early Dutch Snaphaunce / Lock Excavated Near / Albany N.Y." Has been chemically cleaned and now retains a grey patina with some darker areas, loose but functional. The other lock, measuring 8 - 1/4" in length, appears to be of eastern origin with an indistinct maker's marks on plate, spring and cock with scalloped edges, and cock with a silver inlay. Very good condition, retains a grey patina and springs are loose. Lockplate has a silver inlay missing below cock. Theses are two very nice snaphaunces and would be great displayed alone or in period muskets.

Item Dimensions: Largest: 9 - 1/2".
LOT OF 2: SNAPHAUNCE LOCKS.
