This rare musket is part of a group of an entire collection of Winchester muskets dating from 1866 to 1895 that took the consigner nearly 50 years to complete. Manufactured 1903. This is arguable 1873 musket extant and appears to have never been fired. Has 100% fire blue on loading gate and 90% fire blue on firing pin. Balance of blue on frame, barrel, tube and three barrel bands is 98% with some flaking on rear barrel band, a hint of muzzle wear from bayonet and a couple of age spots on the frame. The buttplate with loading gate retains all of the brilliant case colors. The hammer and lever retain most of the case colors and/or pattern. Bore and action are like new. Comes with a bayonet finished in the white.
