Manufactured 1869. Offered is a far above average example of the classic 1866 carbine. Features full round barrel, full magazine, front sight barrel band, rear barrel band, two leaf folding rear sight, brass frame and rifle butt, case colored hammer and lever, saddle ring and stud, and walnut stocks. The barrel, tube and bands are basically a rich, smooth blue-brown patina with sharp legends. Excellent, soft aged brass on frame and butt. Traces of case colors on lever with pattern. Traces of color with pattern on hammer. Loading gate retains 75% of the brilliant Nitre blue, indicating light use and well cared for. All screw heads are near mint. Wood is excellent with usual very minor dings and the majority of the original varnish finish. Fine action and strong, clean rifled bore with just very minor abrasion. A fine condition classic Yellow Boy carbine that was never abused.
