Probably New England, first quarter of the 19th century. Unmarked round steel rifled barrel. Stamp engraved lockplate marked "J TARROTT / WARRANTED" in center and is an original flintlock configuration. Brass sideplate is engraved with New England style designs, buttplate is decorated en suite. Brass trigger guard is engraved with a detailed hawk in a nest on the bow. Full length figured maple stock with checkered wrist featuring stars stamped in each diamond. Complete with hickory ramrod. Very good condition overall; barrel and lock retain an even brown patina, some light freckling around touch hole. Brass retains an unpolished patina and stock is very good with a few scattered marks from use. This rifle has a very nice untouched look.
