Manufactured 1899. The "B" rifle is basically a standard rifle in the black powder calibers with a blued frame instead of case colored. Features full octagon barrel, full magazine, blued finish, case colored hammer and lever, sporting sights, walnut stock and rifle butt. The barrel and tube are a lovely mixture of blue starting to soften with a richer brown on tube. Frame retains approximately 90% of a period reapplied blued finish. Sharp markings. Colors have darkened. Stocks are very good; there is a closed hairline crack on left side than can be easily repaired. Fine action and strong, clean bore. Should make for a strong shooting .38-55.
