Rogers, Spencer & Co. of Willow Dale, New York military inspector stamped percussion revolver with octagon barrel, blued finish, six shot, single action and two piece walnut grips. Approximately 5,800 of these revolvers were manufactured in 1865. Considered a sub-military model but most were delivered too late for the war. Inspector cartouche on left grip panel. Majority of the blue finish has flaked, leaving traces on frame. Metal is mostly grey-brown patina with freckling. Sharp edges. Traces of case colors on lever. Military inspector marks on just about every piece. Fine action and index. Strong rifled bore. Very good grips with sharp cartouche, slightly shy at toe.
