The two-stage smoothbore steel barrel is unmarked. Flintlock lockplate stamped "C. PALMER / NEW YORK / WARRANTED" and features some engraving and a roller frizzen. Blacksmith made iron trigger guard and buttplate and ferrules. Full length stock of plain walnut, replaced wooden ramrod. Lock and barrel have a heavy brown patina with some edge wear and scattered marks from use. Trigger guard and buttplate retain a heavy dark patina, buttplate is broken in two at tang and has another hole, as it was probably once on an earlier gun. Stock has a dark patina and some scattered marks. A nice and original fowler. CORRECTION: This is colonial period.
