Manufactured 1939. One of the hardest to find of all Model 42 Winchesters is a pre-war deluxe trap marked model. Even rarer without the vent rib. Features a 3" chamber with full choke, single bead sight, takedown, blued finish, deluxe extra grain pistol grip checkered walnut stock with center diamonds and Winchester black composite buttplate. About the only wear visible is some minor slide wear on tube and arm and a hint of high muzzle wear. Walnut stocks are near mint. Gun retains approximately 98% factory blue finish and appears to have seen little to no use of any kind. Stamped "TRAP" on the base of the frame. One of the finest and scarcest Model 42's we have ever offered. Mirror bore and fine action. We are unaware of another example like this in this condition.
