This fine set started off life as two 7-1/2" pre-war Single Action Army revolvers in caliber .32-20. One revolver is serial no. 338977, shipped as a blued 7-1/2" .32-20 on March 27, 1920, to A&F New York. Serial no. 278847 does not have a letter. The set comes with the following letter from Jeffrey W. Flannery dated January 15, 1988, by serial numbers as follows "This set of Colt SAAs are engraved in American rococco style with 32" of 24K gold inlay, encased in walnut box with complete pearl tool set." Revolvers are identically engraved with full blue finish, typical 19th century engraving with punch dot background, gold line accents and real pearl grips. Two line patent address on frame. Barrel stamped ".32 WCF". Colt stamp on top. Revolvers are even engraved on the face of the cylinder. Beautiful as new condition as enhanced. Case has three pearl handled tools, a pearl oil bottle, and genuine pearl box/container. Fine action, timing and lock-up. Strong, clean, shiny bores. Workmanship is of the highest master quality and is an aesthetically pleasing two gun Colt set.
