It is probably hard to believe for anyone familiar with the affluent Chicago North Shore, that the Chicago suburb of Winnetka has ever had a firearm within its city limits, but in 1926 when a cooler and more logical thought process existed, Winnetka had a rifle club. The original newspaper article shows a picture of the trophy as won by Winnetka chief of police W.M. Pederson in 1927 at the historic Fort Sheridan. The trophy comes with the article as well as a business card of W.M. Pederson. This trophy was won in 1926 by Kenneth Beall and was never awarded after 1927. Features a black enamel wood base that measures 5" tall with a 6" trophy base and a silver plaque inscribed with the two winners. The trophy is spectacular, silver plated, and stands 19" tall. Features a column with a 5" Indian chief in full headdress and the base is attached with three Winchester pump action .22 rifles. Lovely original patina and basically free of dents. No evidence of repair. This trophy was once owned by author Lawrence Shelton who was going to use it in on of his books.
