Unmarked heavy octagonal barrel, percussion lockplate stamped "SOWERS & SMITH/WARRANTED", and featuring double set triggers. Plain brass furniture and full-length partially figured maple stock. Replaced wooden ramrod. Barrel and lock have a dark brown patina with some minor freckling and some corrosion at breech and bolster. Brass retains a mellow unpolished patina. Stock with period repair to crack on left side of forend and minor chip replaced at toe on buttstock. Some minor age cracks and scattered marks. A nice honest Kentucky that would look great on the beams or over a fireplace.
