Octagonal barrel with markings refreshed or added after the period of use, engraved "H.E. LEMAN/LANCASTER, PA" in block letters on top flat. Flat percussion lockplate with partially visible Leman markings and stamp engraved designs. German silver furniture including a four-piece engraved patchbox, inscribed "J.S. Lehman" on the lid and decorated with scrolls and rocker-panel designs. Each side of forend is decorated with three German silver inlays with rocker-panel borders. Two oval inlays opposite the lock are decorated en suite, oval inlay also above cheekpiece. Nosecap, ramrod ferrules, triggerguard and buttplate are also German silver. Full-length faux striped maple stock of Lancaster form, wrist features diamond section checkering. Barrel retains a reapplied brown finish with heavy edge wear, some scattered freckling, and some corrosion at breech. Lockplate retains a brown patina, plate has some corrosion and hammer is probably replaced. Furniture retains a mellow patina. Stock shows generous traces of faux striping, some scattered age cracks and marks from use. Some minor chipping around lockplate and a repair around front of lockplate tang. This is a very nice and unusual rifle, as it is mounted with silver furniture. The contrast with the faux striping is quite attractive, displays very well.
