This is a fine presentation eagles head pommel saber in a rarely seen configuration. Curved nickel plated steel blade with single fuller on each side, right side etched with scrolls, an American eagle, crossed cannons, and a vacant presentation panel. The left side is decorated with foliage, large intertwined "US" and arms motifs. Right side of ricasso marked with star and "PROVED" in a brass inlaid circle and left side marked with "Conqueror/TRADE/MARK/N.S. MEYER INC./WEST GERMANY." Cast nickel-plated three branch guard with relief leaf decoration and an eagle head pommel with red jewel eyes. Standard black plastic Model 1902 grip with finger grooves. Complete with nickel plated steel scabbard with relief cast nickel mounts featuring floral scroll decoration. Front inscribed "Cpt. Michael W. Thorpe". Blade excellent with all of original finish and only a some light scabbard marks. Hilt has some light freckling to finish, otherwise excellent. Scabbard has almost all of original finish and scattered light freckles. This is a scarce and fine presentation sword.
