Unmarked heavy steel octagonal target barrel with adjustable ramp rear sight and adjustable peep sight mounted on engraved tang. Back action percussion lockplate is unmarked and features stamp engraved game scenes. Brass furniture, including trigger guard engraved with scrolls, two piece brass patchbox and crescent buttplate. The rifle has double set triggers, a pewter nose cap, and a small silver inlay on left side of buttstock. Wooden ramrod is replaced. Plain walnut halfstock. Barrel and lock retain a brown patina with some minor marks and light corrosion around bolster. Brass retains a mellow patina and stock is very good with some light wear and a minor crack between bolster and front of lockplate. This is a very honest target rifle in the style of a Western Plains rifle.
